We, the young people of the Municipality of Kičevo, call for the establishment of a functional Youth Hub – an open, safe, and accessible space where young people can learn, connect, develop new skills, create initiatives, and actively contribute to the development of our community.
Young people need more opportunities for non-formal education, creative expression, volunteering, digital learning, entrepreneurship, and the implementation of their own ideas. A Youth Hub would provide a place where young people are not merely visitors, but active participants and creators of positive change.
Therefore, we call on the Municipality of Kičevo to:
- Provide suitable premises for establishing a Youth Hub.
- Equip the space with essential facilities, internet access, computers, and appropriate conditions for learning, working, and creative activities.
- Organise free workshops, training sessions, debates, cultural events, digital skills activities, and programmes supporting youth entrepreneurship.
- Ensure that young people, youth organisations, and informal youth groups participate in planning activities and managing the hub.
- Make the hub accessible and inclusive for all young people, without discrimination, including young people with disabilities and those living in rural areas.
- Ensure its long-term sustainability through municipal support, partnerships, and funding opportunities.
Why does this matter?
A Youth Hub would create more opportunities for personal and professional development, encourage cooperation among young people, and contribute to a more active, creative, and engaged youth community.
We believe that young people should not have to look exclusively beyond Kičevo to find opportunities. They deserve the conditions to learn, create, and realise their ideas right here in their own community.
